Our Story

It's hard to say when Perinatal CARE was truly created. It wasn't one definitive moment, more like a million small ones. Jessica knew after her third baby was born and postpartum depression hit like a train that even the third time around, she wasn't educated enough. She knew her husband wasn't prepared enough. Having this realization and struggling to get through this period once again, she felt a calling to help other women in the same situation. This drive sent her back to grad school to get her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with the goal of specializing in perinatal mental health.

As Jessica entered into private practice after graduation, the need for educating women and their support systems, connecting moms to resources, and advocating for the wellness of women in the healthcare industry continued to make itself clear. It was in a first time meeting with Alex at Front Porch Coffee in Abilene that Jessica spoke the vision of Perinatal CARE out loud. Alex, without hesitation, encouraged Jessica’s vision and volunteered to help create it. Robyn followed soon after. And with that, Perinatal CARE was born.
