Meet Ann…

Ann is a certified genetic counselor specializing in cancer genetics. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Texas Tech University and her Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from the UT Health Science Center in Houston/MD Anderson. She is a lifelong Texan currently raising her children with her husband in Abilene.

Her oldest daughter was born 9 weeks early due to severe preeclampsia/HELLP syndrome and spent 42 days in the NICU. Her son was born 6 weeks early due to non-reassuring fetal heart rate and spent 13 days in the NICU. She has another daughter, Eleanor, who was stillborn at 36 weeks in October 2021. Since Eleanor’s death, she has devoted time to stillbirth awareness and prevention via social media as well as working to try to get the SHINE for Autumn Stillbirth Prevention Act passed in Congress. Ann has also partnered with the Rhett Sullivan Foundation to provide Love and comfort bags to loss families in Abilene.

Ann hopes to bring support to other families experiencing birth and pregnancy complications, NICU stays, and pregnancy and infant loss.
